Well folks, we finally got everything resolved and are back on track. All remaining orders will be out of here between Thursday and Friday. The last 6 weeks have been a real challenge and there is no way to explain the nightmare that I endured and the frustration it has caused our customers that suffered along with it. STAR WARS: TALES FROM THE CLONE WARS UPDATE

Dreams and Visions Press and Dark Horse Comics are publishing the trade paperback edition of the first season web comics from Starwars.com, titled Star Wars: Tales from the Clone Wars.

This edition will be available at the Art of Tom Hodges booth in conjuction with Dreams and Visions Press at Celebration V this August and then at StarWarsShop.com and Dreams and Visions Press after the event. It includes the entire run of Season One webcomics -- written by Pablo Hidalgo and illustrated by Jeff Carlisle, Katie Cook, Grant Gould and Tom Hodges, as well as the "gameisode" installments that tied into online Flash games following Season One. A bonus section features concept art and development sketches, as well as bonus art from all the artists. This special collected edition includes a foreword by Dave Filoni, supervising director of the television series.

Well folks, we are down to the finish line in getting the current orders out. We have about 160 orders to fulfill. We shipped out 30 books this morning, 40 more will be leaving friday morning. We should be caught up with packing this weekend and the last of the orders will be on their way to everyone. I am sorry this took so long. It was not our intention for such a long shipping time but there were unavoidable circumstances that derailed our schedule. On another note, our site is currently being updated and will be back on line next week. Thank you.

We are on the last leg of shipping the final orders out. We had a small blip in getting orders out last week but we are back on schedule. We anticipate all orders to be shipped by early next week or sooner. The balance of orders to ship out are international customers and delivery time is usually 4-7 days. OK, Tomb Raider customers, we can finally see the end of the tunnel of books. We have about 150 order left to pack and ship. We hope to have all of these out of here the first of the week as long as something does not derail our schedule again. For all of you asking about tracking numbers, as soon as the package is scanned an email will be sent to you and you should be able to trace it from that point. For all the International customers, I have no idea how long customs takes once the package arrives in your country. please give them a little time to process.

International Orders take a little more time than here in the US so please be a little more patient, I am working on all of the orders everyday.

Tomb Raider fans, the books are starting to ship. We are still unpacking and looking through all the books and processing as fast as we can. Our schedule should have all the pre orders out the door early next week. Please be patient with this process, it's slow. We don't just throw the books in a box. We look at all of them before they are packed and shipped so no bad ones get through.

You will get a tracking number from the carrier. If in the US you will get an email from Federal Express. All international orders will receive an email from the USPS.

Hey folks,

The books are here and will be delivered to our warehouse on Monday morning, April 5th. We will start in with getting everything ready, packed and start shipping ASAP. Please give us a little time to check through the books, the packing and shipping, it does take a little time since there is only two of us doing all the work.

An email will be sent to you from the carrier that will deliver the book. If you are in the US, you will get an email from Federal Express Ground. All International shipments will receive an email with your international package number.

TOMB RAIDER UPDATE March 19^th 2010

We wanted to let everyone know that we have heard from the shipping company and the cargo ship is scheduled to arrive at the port of Oakland March 29^th or 30^th. The books should be delivered to us April 1^st or 2^ndas long as everything goes smoothly in customs.

Once the books arrive we will start unpacking and inspecting them. We make every effort to inspect every book so that you don’t get a flawed copy. Books should start shipping April 5^th.

Please be patient with us on this part, there is a lot of books that have to be packed up. We will move on this as fast as we can to get these out to you. We want you to get your book ASAP.

We want to thank all of you for your support. I know this has been a long, drawn out process and it has been trying at times. We want to thank those that have sent encouraging emails. The Art of Tomb Raider

March 4^th, 2010 Status Update

We wanted to take a moment to address some of the concerns that have been expressed in online forums and in emails we've received here at Dreams and Visions Press.

First and most importantly, the entire print run of The Art of Tomb Raider are on a boat on their way to the US from Singapore. The printer notes that the delivery can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks, in part depending on how smoothly things go through customs once they arrive in the U.S. While we are hopeful that books will arrive and begin shipping before the end of March, at this point it's out of our hands.

Once the books arrive at our warehouse, hundreds of cases need to be opened, and each book individually inspected for any damage in transit. Once that is done, all pre-orders need to be securely packaged for individual shipping to you, to ensure their safe and secure arrival. Until you've held the book in your hands, you won't be able to appreciate why it costs what it does to ship. The two volumes in the slipcase weigh 12 pounds - and that's before any packing materials are taken into consideration. As customers of our larger (yet lighter) The Art of Ralph McQuarrie volume are well aware, international shipping is particularly expensive because there is no surface option - only air.

We also wanted to confirm that the pre-order discount on the book will expire March 31st, at which time the cost will rise to the retail price of $125 for the two volume, slipcased set. Several people have asked when and if a less expensive, mass-market edition will be available. Dreams and Visions Press licensed for 2000 copies to be produced worldwide. We are not a mainstream publisher, but a specialty press focused on producing high-quality limited editions. There will be no mass market edition, nor will The Art of Tomb Raider be available through Amazon or any other online retailers. Once the 2000 copy run is sold out, that's it. We certainly understand that a book of this nature is not for all fans or all budgets. We do trust that those people who order it will treasure the book for years to come, and will be as pleased with the finished product as we are.

At Dreams and Visions Press, it is our custom to offer a special thank you gift to those folks who support our projects by pre-ordering. As it was going to be a surprise, but given the delays we felt it best that we share what we have in store for everyone who pre-orders (either edition) of The Art of Tomb Raider. As you may already know, Crystal Dynamics created new artwork for the two volumes and outer slipcase. We are producing an extremely limited edition of fine art prints of those three pieces of art, suitable for framing, that will ship with all pre-ordered copies of the book. These will only go to those orders received before the price increase on 3/31.

In closing, it's important that we clarify that we are not a major publisher with hundreds of employees. We are a very small specialty press. When you contact us, you don't get an automated reply from an outsourced customer service department, you're communicating with the principals. When you see Dreams and Visions Press at shows, you're talking directly to us. When you get a package in the mail, you can rest assured that it was our hands that did that, not some immense shipping department not concerned with how or whether your order arrives. At times, these limitations result in delays and missed expectations, for which we sincerely apologize.

We hand pick our projects and put all our efforts into every step of the production process to ensure we are satisfied with the final product - as we are our own customers, first and foremost. We do hope that you will find the finished product more than worth the wait, and request that you do contact us if you have any concerns with your order at any time.

The day has finally arrived. The final pages have been approved and the book will begin in the next few days. This has been a long, long road getting this book done. We missed a few deadlines and did not make our Christmas release but we wanted to get this right. Working along with Crystal Dynamics this will be an awesome book for Tomb Raider fans. The book is packed with tons of drawings, paintings and just about everything we could squeeze in at it's already huge size. Thanks for all your support in this project.

There are some new Ralph McQuarrie Items posted on the website. The Ark of the Covenant print is back, as well as a few "Signed" ones.

From ACME ARCHIVES is the the limited edition of 100 Boba Fett print that premiered at San Diego Comic Con 2009. We are offering A/P's from Ralph's personal inventory.

Last but not to say the least is Original Star Wars Portfolio prints that have been in storage for awhile because these have Ralph's full signature on them from around 1996-1998.

After two years in development, The Art of Tomb Raider is almost here. We're anxious to get the book into the hands of the fans who have been waiting so patiently for it to be released; frankly we can't wait to hold the finished product in our hands.

The book is in the final approval stages and then it will be off to the printer. We are currently scheduled for a December release, a little later than we had hoped, but it is in the home stretch.

We've also added several new products, including the extremely limited signed hardcover editions of Star Wars: The Art of Ralph McQuarrie and an entire category of Art Prints. We will be exhibiting at Wondercon in San Francisco next weekend, and invite you to stop by to say hello.

We have pulled the last remaining copies of the book from the warehouse, including some slightly worn scratch and dent copies that will be offered at a discount of the original retail prices of the book. These include some of the last copies hand signed by Ralph McQuarrie.

In addition, we will have copies of the Japanese exclusive Star Wars: The Art of Ralph McQuarrie, and for the first time offering an electronic file with an English translation of the text for those of you unable to read Japanese (or enjoy it just for the beautiful illustrations). Dreams and Visions Press is pleased to announce their latest release, a limited edition produced exclusively for Star Wars Celebration Japan which will be held at the Makuhari-Messe in Chiba, near Tokyo, July 19-21, 2008.

Star Wars: The Art of Ralph McQuarrie is a 168 page, full color oversize paperback created to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Star Wars in Japan. Authors Stan Stice and John David Scoleri have compiled a book that contains nearly all of Ralph's Star Wars art from their critically acclaimed The Art of Ralph McQuarrie, along with dozens of newly discovered, never before published production pieces from Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi.

The Art of Ralph McQuarrie made it's debut at Star Wars Celebration IV in Los Angeles in May 2007. "We were thrilled at the reception the book received. While we were happy to finally make so much of Ralph's artwork available to his fans, certain limitations resulted in several of Ralph's most famous and recognizable Star Wars paintings not making the final cut," Scoleri said. A veteran of all 5 previous Star Wars Celebrations, Stice noted, "We saw the opportunity to do something special for Ralph's Japanese fans while celebrating the 30th anniversary of Star Wars in Japan. By designing a book that focused exclusively on Ralph's Star Wars art, we were able to not only carry over the majority of the Star Wars art from the original volume, but add in many of the pieces we didn't originally have the space for."

The Japanese book also provided an avenue for additional recently uncovered Star Wars artwork. "Ralph's furnace went out and needed to be replaced," said Stice. "In the process of clearing out the space for the workmen to replace it, I came across a folder containing pages and pages of never before seen drawings from the making of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. Our book had only been out a few months, and here we stumbled across a treasure chest of illustrations that had been forgotten for nearly 30 years."

The inclusion of the new and previously omitted artwork expanded the book by almost 30 pages, making this a must have for all fans of Ralph McQuarrie and the art of Star Wars. The text is entirely in Japanese, allowing Ralph's fans in Japan to read his personal commentary on his amazing body of Star Wars artwork for the first time. This Star Wars Celebration Japan store exclusive is limited to 1978 copies and has a retail price of $50 US.

As has become a Star Wars Celebration tradition, authors Stan Stice and John David Scoleri will be in the Ralph McQuarrie booth in the artists' area all weekend selling exclusive art prints and handing out free, Celebration Japan exclusive Ralph McQuarrie bookmarks on each day of the show (while supplies last).

"This provided another opportunity to share another of Ralph's pieces long thought to be lost to the ages," Scoleri said. "Many fans are unaware that Ralph designed the original Star Wars Fan Club 'Bantha Tracks' logo. We searched the Lucasfilm archives during the making of our original book, and it was assumed the original art was lost before Lucasfilm moved to Northern California. Pete Vilmur of Lucasfilm online and co-author of the Star Wars Vault and Star Wars Poster Book, came to the rescue after he located Ralph's original drawing." While it was too late to include within the book, Stice took the opportunity to utilize the image as one of the show exclusive bookmarks. "The size and orientation of the original drawing made it perfect for a bookmark. We were so excited to finally have the piece, I decided to make these bookmarks even larger than the previous versions to really showcase the art."
